I’m glad you’re here!
If you are looking for someone to help you complete your basic activities of daily living (ADLs) or overcome everyday challenges associated with physical disabilities, chronic pain, limited movement, weakness, or recent hospitalization, then occupation therapy (OT) is for you!
But we’re not JUST about OT.
We also offer physical therapy (PT). If you are looking to improve your balance, get help with walking, or strengthen your legs, PT is what you need. We can help you increase your overall ease of movement, or we can help you master specific tasks like maneuvering over a curb or taking the stairs.
If communication has become a struggle, we can refer you to a licensed speech therapist (SLP). Maybe your memory just isn’t what it used to be, or eating and swallowing are causing you to cough or choke. We can work on these areas to improve your overall quality of life.
No matter your concern, we are here to pair you with the right team member to meet your needs.
No difficulty is too big or too small.
If you struggle to use your hands or feel generalized weakness, we can strengthen your upper body with exercises tailored to you.
If raising your arms above your head, pushing up out of the chair, or simple handwriting are challenging, we can set up a plan of action to bring relief to your fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, and neck.
If you’ve experienced a debilitating condition like Parkinson’s disease, stroke, heart attack, or diabetes, we can work on dressing, bathing, toileting, self-care, grooming, shaving, reaching for items out of the closets, bed mobility, getting up out of the chair, or kitchen safety.
We might do strength or dexterity exercises, or our specialists might suggest modifications for your home or work environment to empower you to live a better life
Whatever you need, we’ll figure out and find a solution that works for you!
We can even work together online!
And it can have its advantages. Many like the privacy it affords, finding it easier to open up and participate when on their “home turf.”
The office is very bright and clean, so you’ll get a good view of me and what I’m doing. And I’ll be working on a large desktop computer, so I’ll be able to see you well, too.
As we work together, feel free to move around your house, work environment, or whatever setting where you have a hard time completing tasks.
You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to work together remotely. I’ll be able to assess what’s going on, and you’ll have no trouble following my lead. And don’t worry: I can still see and be sensitive to any pain or discomfort you might be experiencing during our time together.
It’s easy AND IMPORTANT to get started!
We’ll start with an initial screening call to evaluate your challenges and explore your goals. That’ll tell us what therapy will be right for you and lay the groundwork for future sessions.
Let us take care of all that. What we ask from you is to let us help you get from Point A to Point B.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much progress you can make!
The quicker you start, the more likely you’ll alleviate your symptoms before things worsen.
Get your confidence and independence back! Call us today at (786) 253-8818 or (954) 405-4865 for your free consultation.
About Me
I truly love my job!
I’ve been an occupational therapist for ten years. I can’t even imagine doing anything else!
Every day, I get to help others feel better. It doesn’t get better than that! If there’s ANYTHING I can do to meet your needs, I’m willing to look into it, figure out, and put it to work for you.
When you come to me, I approach your challenges like a puzzle, piecing things back together to make your picture whole and perfect. It takes time and effort, but you can feel your best and achieve your goals.
I’ve been on the receiving side of treatment, too.
Several years ago, I was enjoying an outdoor ski trip when I suddenly slipped on a patch of ice and fell off the side of the mountain.
The result was a meniscus tear on both sides of my left knee. It was very painful, and I felt like it would give out anytime I put weight on it. After the initial treatment, I came home in a wheelchair, unable to walk. I lost mobility for several weeks, which was hard emotionally.
My profession helped me, though, as I knew how to give myself the best chance possible. I sought treatment from my functional medical doctor in consultation with other occupational and physical therapists, and I took full advantage of vitamins and supplements to accelerate my recovery.
Here’s what all that taught me…
I learned first-hand what it’s like to deal with a short-term or long-term disability.
Having gone through rehab myself, I learned what it’s like to be injured and how hard it can be to get back on your feet.
But I did it, and you can do it, too!
Let me help. Call me and let’s set up a free consultation to see how I can help.
