Things can happen so fast…
You look down at your leg and think, “How did I get here? I can’t remember what happened.”
It’s all a blur, but you have a sudden flashback of being hit while in your car.
“It was all so quick, and now I had surgery because of a fracture? Is this real?”
The shock has not worn off, and now you must return to “normal.”
You just want to leave the hospital and skip rehab. You want to go home to get into your bed, hoping this was a nightmare you could wake up from and return to how everything was before.
That may not be a reality, but the good news is that injuries heal.
It will take some time and hard work, but we can help you get better.
All we need is the recommendation from your doctor, and we are good to go.
An updated report may be required from your surgeon periodically, as we continue to work on strengthening and other treatment options.
It’s ironic, but if you don’t stay in bed all the time, other areas of your body will become stronger and compensate for the injured area.
Toileting, bathing, dressing, bed mobility, cooking, taking out the trash, and even reaching for items may be challenging. We can teach you safe and effective ways to accommodate what you might not be able to do because of your injury.
If it’s a leg injury… don’t rush it! Trying to walk after an extensive leg injury or surgery may seem like the hardest thing in the world. But this can change faster than you think if you have the right therapists on your side and your team to guide you through the process.
That’s what we are here for!
Don’t pass up the chance to heal safely!
We can be there for you every step of the way.
Your healing process doesn’t have to be done alone. No one should deal with the fact that they’re hurting and are scared of their body not receiving the care it needs to mend back into place properly.
